The President today signed into law two measures co-authored by City of Bacoor Representative Strike B. Revilla.

Except for the passports of minors, RA10928 extends the validity of the Philippine passport to 10 years, from a previous 5 years. RA10930 meanwhile extends the validity of a Philippine Driving License from 3 years to 5 years.

According to Revilla, he pushed for both measures to eliminate red tape and reduce the troubles Filipinos have to go through in obtaining these vital documents. He added that because of these 2 new laws, the heavy volume of applicants will eventually be addressed as the period for renewal have become longer. The lawmaker also pointed out the benefits the new laws will have on the OFW sector and those relying on driving for their livelihood.
